Execution activities kicked off at two gas processing projects
| During the visit of President Khatami to the city of Gachsaran in the southern province of Kohgiloyeh-va-Boyerahmad in June 2000, execution activities started at Gachsaran NGL 1200 and 1300 projects. These two gas processing plants will process associated gas from the Gachsaran and the Bibi Hakimeh oil fields. The rich sour gas is processed at NGL 1200 and 1300 providing condensates for Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex (BIPC). BIPC uses condensates as feedstock for its processing plants. |

Bidding for Esfahan PA/DOP and Kermanshah LAB projects extended
NPC has extended the deadline for the submission of bids for its phthalic anhydride (PA) and dioctyle phthalate (DOP) plant at the central province of Esfahan to the end of September 2000. The reason for the extension was twofold; bidders' request and the introduction of two Iranian companies that own technologies for these plants to the foreign bidders so they can also submit their proposals based on the homespun technologies. A number of PA/DOP plants are already onstream based on the locally developed technologies. NPC also has decided to extend the deadline for the submission of bids for its first LAB plant at Kermanshah to September 2, 2000.
