SABIC Representative in NPC


Mr. N. Al-Sayyari, the President of SABIC's Basic Chemicals met with the NPC President on July 5 to review the current relations between the two companies. In the talks, Al-Sayyari called for more regular contacts between the two companies proposing that expert teams from both sides get together at least twice a year in Iran and Saudi Arabia on rotational basis so that they can examine their mutual relationship. The NPC President expressed his satisfaction over the growing ties between the two companies.

The relationship between NPC and SABIC has witnessed a surge during the past few years, encompassing both technical and commercial areas. Commercial cooperation between them started two years ago and they have already entered into several contracts for trading petrochemicals. NPC and SABIC are currently holding talks to look at possible joint investment plans in Iran's petrochemical industry.


BASF interested in NPC's projects


Knut Siegel, Managing Director of BASF Business Center SZE, Dubai, called on M. R. Nematzadeh, NPC President, on July 31 to submit to him a letter indicating the German company's interest to participate in NPC's projects. BASF is particularly interested to contribute in the construction of the olefins no. 10 project. Welcoming BASF's interest, Nematzadeh called for regular contacts and expansion of cooperation between the two companies.

This followed the last month's visit of a delegation from the Germany's BASF, headed by Mr. Max Dietrich Kley, a member of the company's Board of Executive Directors with NPC President (NPC News Bulletin # 6).
