NPC and Basell held a two-day 'Polyolefins' joint seminar in Tehran. The seminar which began work on April 12th drew over 120 participants from NPC, its subsidiaries and representatives of Iranian private-sector companies active in polyolefins business took part at the event. Topics discussed at the seminar by Basell included: "Polyolefins as the Plastic Materials of Choice", "Basell as the Leader in the Polyolefins Industry", "PP Technologies: Spheripol & Spherizone", "Latest Generations of PP and PE Catalysts", "PE Bimodal Slurry Technology: Hostalen", "Gas phase Swing technology for LLDPE/HDPE: New Spherilene", "Lupotech G for selected products", "High Pressure Technology: Lupotech T (Including EVA-Copolymers", "Introduction of MaSTeM Program". Topics covered by NPC subsidiary NPC R&T Co. included: "R&D Cooperation between Basell and NPC", "The MaSTeM Program from NPC-RT perspective", MaSTeM Experience #1 "Polymerization Kinetics of Ethylene", MaSTeME #2 "Polymerization Kinetics of Propylene", MaSTeM Experience #3, "R&D organizational structure of the successful PO manufacturer". A presentation on the "outlook of polymer & marketing network" was also given at the seminar by NPC's commercial subsidiary, PCC.




In a two-day seminar which was held on 1-2 March 2005 in Tehran, BASF introduced its catalysts and chemicals to NPC. The subjects that were rasied during the seminar included: Introduction to Catalyst Business Unit, BASF Purification Catalysts for Olefin& Polyolefins, New Oxidation and Dehydrogenation Catalysts, BASF Styrene and Oxidation Catalysts for SM Plants, BASF Hydrogenation Catalysts for Olefin Plants, Introduction to Business Unit Management, Technical Chemicals for Petrochemical Plants, BASF Butadiene Extraction Technology, BASF aMDEA Technology for Ammonia Plants. sir_shahriar@yahoo.com
