A high-ranking NPC delegation at 16th WPC
A high-ranking NPC delegation, headed by the NPC President attended the 16th World Petroleum Congress (WPC) held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on 11-15 June 2000. They also attended the National Petroleum Show which took place on the sidelines of the 16th WPC.
During their stay in Canada, Nematzadeh and his accompanying team, Reza Afshin, Director of Production Control and M. S. Bakhshian, Director of Administration and Training, toured the ethane extraction facility of the TransCanada Pipelines Ltd. as well as the petrochemical plants of the Nova Chemicals and Union Carbide. The NPC team held an exclusive meeting with the Senior Vice President of Nova Chemicals.
They also met the Dean of the Faculty of Management and the Head of Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering of the University of Calgary. In their negotiations, they discussed the participation of the University of Calgary in promoting science and technology as well as management skills in NPC.
The NPC delegation also paid a visit to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) and negotiated mutual cooperation in the fields of training and consultancy services. They also toured the SAIT's facilities. Nematzadeh and his accompanying team also visited the Banff Center for Management and held talks with the Center's Vice President on launching advanced management-training programs both in Iran and Canada for the NPC personnel. The two sides decided to kick off their cooperation promptly.
NPC at Plast 2000 & China Petroleum Expo
The Petrochemical Commercial Company (PCC) and the NPC's Production Control Department represented NPC at Plast 2000 Exhibition held on 8-13 May 2000 in Milan, Italy. Moreover, representatives from NPC office in Beijing attended the China Petroleum Expo on 23-26 May 2000 in China.
