NPC's marketing arm, Petrochemical Commercial Co. (PCC), has entered into long-term supply contracts with ten major Chinese, Hong Kong and Singaporean companies for thermoplastic products in Chinese market. The suppliers have links with a large portfolio of end-user customers. They also have warehouse facilities from which they can extensively distribute the products in China. PCC has also concluded long-term agreements with major suppliers for the supply of methanol to European markets. In the meantime, preparations are underway to enter into long-term agency and off-take agreements for the supply of bottle and fiber grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) to Western Europe, Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Far East and South East Asia. Meanwhile, the value of long-term contracts PCC has signed amounts to $1.7bn. According to the contracts, beginning in 2005, PCC will supply 5 million tonnes of methanol, parxylene, benzene, LPG, naphtha, heavy end, ammonia and melamine to international markets.


Petrochemical Commercial Co. (PCC) and the Philippines Metro Alliance Holding and Equities Corporation (MAHEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding for the long-term supply of ethylene. The agreement was inked by PCC chairman and managing director Mohammad Ehtiati and MAHEC chairman Renato Magadia in the Philippines. The supply agreement will be for six years and shipment of ethylene to MAHEC's Bataan polyethylene plant will start in 2005. MAHEC will use the ethylene as feedstock in the manufacture of plastic resins in its polyethylene plant located at Mariveles, Bataan.




NPC celebrated the twenty-sixth anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution with ceremonies which were also held across its subsidiaries scattered around the country. NPC buildings and those of its subsidiaries were decked out in colored lights, flags and posters. There were 10 days of celebrations, known as the '10-Days Dawn Ceremonies' to mark the victory of the revolution. Various cultural and art contests were held for the employees' school children. There were also sports contests for the employees. On the occasion, a book & compact disc (CD) sale exhibition was organized at the NPC central building where employees could buy their required items at discount prices. Meanwhile, there were also public events and festivals where the employees of NPC and its subsidiaries along with their families attended to mark the anniversary.
