NPC took part in Iraq's Reconstruction Exhibition which was held in Iran's southern city of Khoramshahr. Hundreds of petroleum officials from Iraq's southern provinces as well as executives from the nation's chamber of commerce and trade associations were present at the exhibition which was organized under the aegis of the Iranian Ministry of Commerce. The Iraqi officials invited NPC to rehabilitate and reconstruct Iraqi petrochemical plants and called for closer cooperation between the two countries petrochemical sectors. They had earlier met with NPC officials and visited its facilities in southern Iran. In response to their call, NPC dispatched a technical team to Iraqi southern port city of Basra to investigate possible cooperation in reconstructing the petrochemical plants there. The two sides are discussing technical issues of their possible cooperation.
