Bidding deadline for No. 9 olefin downstream units set

   June 15th is the deadline set for submission of bids for the downstream units of NPC's No. 9 olefin project. These units include ethane cracking, linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), ethylene glycol (MEG) and styrene monomer. NPC's No. 9 olefin will be built at Pars (Assaluyeh) Special Economic/Energy Zone (ParsEE) on the north coast of the Persian Gulf. This huge project will have a capacity of 1.4 million ton/year.

   

 

Tender documents for Methanol 4th and Olefin 10th to be issued in June

   NPC will issue tender documents for its methanol No. 4 and olefin No. 10 on June 15 and 25 respectively. Contracts for these two world-scale projects, which will be constructed at ParsEE, will include grant of license, basic and detailed engineering, supply of equipment and material, technical assistance during construction and commissioning. Olefin No. 10 is designed to produce 200,000-t/y alfa olefin, 350,000-t/y LLDPE, 300,000-t/y PP, 400,000-t/y MEG and 250,000-t/y pyrolysis gasoline. Methanol No. 4 will produce 1,000,000-t/y of methanol.

NPC extends bidding for urea granulation project to June 10


   NPC has decided to extend to June 10 the deadline for submission of bids for a 1800-t/d urea granulation project to be implemented at its subsidiary Razi Petrochemical Complex (RPC), south west of Iran on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf. RPC is also carrying out a number of other projects to improve the operation of its production facilities, including sulfur granulation, renovation of an ammonia plant, improvement of loading facilities and optimization of power generation and supply. RPC is an NPC's major fertilizer producer. Its total annual production is 3.2 million tons.

Tender documents for Esfahan PA/DOP project issued


   NPC has issued tender documents for grant of license, basic & detailed engineering, supply of equipment & material, construction, erection and technical assistance for phthalic anhydride (PA) and dioctyle phthalate (DOP) projects. The closing date for submission of bids for local and foreign contractors is July 31, 2000. Located near Esfahan Petrochemical Company in the central province of Esfahan, the PA and DOP plants will have a capacity of 21,500-t/y and 40,000-t/y respectively.

Contract negotiations for ethane plus recovery and fractionation units of olefin 9th project started


   Following the submission of bids for ethane plus recovery and fractionation units of the 9th olefin project, contract negotiations for the project has started since May 27, 2000, in Tehran. The scope of work covers grant of license and know-how, basic & detailed engineering, supply of equipment & material and technical assistance.
