The U.S. based Iranian Academic Association (IAA) held a two-day seminar in Tehran
on May 21 - 22, 2002. The seminar focused on regional trade and management issues.
Some of the topics discussed at the seminar included "intra-regional trade in Middle
East, its potential for growth and contribution to economic development, economics of
scale and agglomeration & regional growth, enhancement of Iran's regional cooperation,
management in large organization, issues in providing technical & managerial services
for large organization, human resources utilization in project management, effectiveness
and efficiency in project management and implementation: theory of Constraint and SWOT Analysis,
Stability of organizational behavior: A Cusp-Catastrophe Model, R & D management at a modern
chemical industry, crisis management and strategic leadership. IAA members attended the fourth
Iran Petrochemical Forum and toured NPC projects being constructed at Petzone, in Mahshahr.Meanwhile,
they met with Petroleum Minister as well as NPC Preseident and reviewed areas of possible cooperation.
