Iran's Majlis (Parliament) speaker, Mahdi Karoubi said Iran is a secure and stable place for foreign investment.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 7th Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Show that opened on 20 April 2002 in Tehran,
Karoubi said interaction between local and foreign companies is very crucial because it helps upgrade the capabilities
of the local companies and attraction of foreign investment. He also called for further improvement of Iran's status in
the world of petroleum.
During his tour of the Show, Majlis speaker was briefed on the latest status of the NPC's plans.
Also speaking at the opening ceremony, Iranian petroleum minister, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, said the Show aimed to establish links
between consumers of equipment, goods and engineering service and producers of such items in oil, gas and petrochemicals.

NPC and other production subsidiaries of the Iranian Petroleum Ministry took part at the Oil and Gas West Asia 2002 that was held
on 22-24 April 2002 in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The exhibition focused on oil, LNG, sub-sea, refining and petrochemicals.
Petroleum Minister of the Sultanate of Oman toured NPC booth and was briefed on its development plans and commercial activities.
During the exhibition, several companies approached NPC and discussed purchasing of its products.
