Pars Petrochemical Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of NPC, on 06 September 2000 entered into an EP
contractual agreement with Germany's Linde AG and Iran's Nargan for its C2+ recovery and fractionation
plant at southern port of Assaluyeh, Iran. The contract covers inter alia basic and detailed engineering,
procurement and supply of equipment and other services in connection with the construction, pre-commissioning
and start up of the plant. The EP contract became effective on 6 November 2000. It is planned to be completed
by April 2004.
The C2+ recovery and fractionation plant is designed to process 2700 MMSCFD of natural gas and to produce
203.5 t/hr of ethane, 123.5 t/hr of propane, 71.5 t/hr of butane and 11.5 t/hr of C5+. The propane and butane
will be delivered to the nearby NPC complexes while ethane and C5+ will be sent to Pars downstream olefin plants.
The actual accumulated overall engineering and procurement services progress currently stands at 32.2% against
29.35% planned. While, the actual accumulated overall progress for engineering and deliveries is 11.65% against
the 10.8% planned. The basic engineering has already been completed.Purchase orders for long delivery equipment
and main pieces of equipment are already placed and delivery of main equipment will start from April 2002 and will
be completed by April 2003.
So far, major concepts such as P&ID, process and mechanical data sheets and specifications for different categories
have been reviewed and approved.
In the meantime, 3D CAD model review for piping and equipment is expected to be completed by November 2001.
