NPC subsidiaries, Bandar Imam (BIPC) and Khorasan (KPC) petrochemical complexes
completed their overhaul operations. The overhaul for BIPC's olefin plant was
originally planned for 35 days but the facility was brought onstream after 37 days.
Despite the olefin plant's overhaul, the complex's high-density polyethylene plant
(hdPE) was on track under normal operating conditions. Part of the plant's required
ethylene feedstock was imported while the olefin plant was being overhauled.
KPC's overhaul, originally planned for ten days was completed in eight days.
Following the overhaul, KPC's urea and ammonia plants were on track at production
rates exceeding their nameplate capacities.
KPC has a designed capacity of 330,000-t/y of ammonia and 495,000-t/y of urea.
Iranian engineers and technicians carried out the overhaul and maintenance at both complexes.
