NPC & Noyvallesina sign contract for PET & POY pilot plants


NPC and Italy's Noyvallesina signed a contract for transfer of technology and know-how for polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and pre-oriented polyester yarn (POY) pilot plants. Noyvallesina will provide NPC with the license, know-how, technical services for detailed engineering, fabrication of equipment, installation, commissioning and training. According to the contract, NPC and Noyvallesina will carry out some research projects in the pilot plant. The pilot plant will be commissioned within 12 months. NPC had earlier awarded the contracts for its 396,000 tonne/year of PET, consisting of 264,000-t/y fiber grade and 132,000-t/y bottle grade, to Noyvallesina and its Iranian partner, Namvaran for provision of license, engineering and procurement services. The PET plant is a part of NPC's second PTA/PET project that is already being implemented at Bandar Imam Petrochemical Special Economic Zone on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf.



NPC & Haldor Topsoe to begin joint R&D programs


In a memorandum of understanding that was signed between NPC and Haldor Topsoe on May 01, the two companies expressed their interest to launch training programs and joint R&D activities. NPC and Haldor Topsoe have stated that they are keen to carry out joint research projects based on natural gas conversion catalysts and processes.
