NPC's Q4 and year-end results


NPC's output edged up 13 percent to 3.05m tonnes in the fourth quarter of the past Iranian calendar year (December 21, 2000-March 20, 2001) compared to the corresponding period in the preceding year. Meanwhile, the company's year-end (March 20, 2000-March 20, 2001) production rose by 7 percent to over 11.8m tonnes on the output of the preceding year (March 20, 1999-March 20, 2000).
NPC's output edged up 13 percent to 3.05m tonnes in the fourth quarter of the past Iranian calendar year (December 21, 2000-March 20, 2001) compared to the corresponding period in the preceding year. Meanwhile, the company's year-end (March 20, 2000-March 20, 2001) production rose by 7 percent to over 11.8m tonnes on the output of the preceding year (March 20, 1999-March 20, 2000).
At the same time, the fourth quarter export earnings rose to some $229m registering a sharp growth of 24 percent over the result of the preceding year.
The annual export revenues grew by 43 percent in comparison to preceding Iranian calendar year reaching a record high of over $0.828bn. During the past Iranian year, NPC exported 3.12m tonnes of its products.
NPC also enjoyed impressive safety and health records during March 20, 2000-March 20, 2001. In this period, the registered frequency and severity rates were 0.7 and 94.5 respectively down by 36 percent and 80 percent over the rates in the corresponding period last year. The figures included both permanent staff and contractors' personnel.
Moreover, fatal accident rate dropped by 82.5 percent compared to 1999-2000 results. The year-end's total Manhours Without Accident (MWA) reached over 41.3 million registering some 215 percent increase over the last year's result.
