Centralized utilities and off-site services project
NPC formulated to build a centralized utilities and off-site services project to supply the facilities that are under construction or will be constructed in the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (PETZONE) with the required utilities and off-site services thus cutting down investment costs for the projects in the zone.
The NPC subsidiary, Fajr Petrochemical Company (FPC) is responsible for implementing and running the project.
The project is being built in a 29-hectare area. It consists of the following units:
Steam and power generation unit, water treatment unit, air compression and separation unit, gas station unit, incinerator unit, waste-water treatment unit.
The production capacities for the central utilities are as follow:
Purification & river water: 7000m3/h, fire-fighting water: 7000m3/h, service water: 400m3/h, potable water: 250m3/h, make-up for cooling 2400m3/h, demineralized water: 980m3/h, steam: 860t/h, electricity: 585mw/h (ISO condition), instrument air: 15000nm3/h, service air 17000nm3/h, nitrogen: 18000nm3/h, oxygen 19000nm3/h.
The basic and detailed engineering as well as manufacturing contracts for the air separation plant have been awarded to Air Product of Britain. Iran's Erection and Construction Co. (ECC) has won the installation contract. Austria's Va Tech-Wabag has won the contracts for basic engineering, detailed engineering and manufacturing of the water treatment plant. The contracts for the basic engineering, detailed engineering and manufacturing of the project's steam and power generation plant have been awarded to Alstom Power of France while Iran's Atanour has been selected as the installation contractor. The basic and detailed engineering as well as manufacturing and installation contracts for the effluent treatment plant have been given to Va Tech-Wabag and Iran's Zolal.
The centralized utilities and off-site services project is expected to be onstream in late 2001.
