NPC and Lurgi work together to manufacture methanol pilot plant

NPC and Germany's Lurgi signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for manufacturing methanol pilot plants in Iran. According to the MOU, Lurgi will help NPC to design, engineer and construct methanol pilot plants. NPC wishes to deepen its knowledge of methanol production technology and have the technology transferred to the country.

Presently, NPC has two production methanol plants and is constructing two others within the framework of its development program. The pilot plant will also help NPC with the training of its operation personnel and with evaluating plant performance affected by variation of process parameters in the pilot scale. NPC and Lurgi have agreed to work out procedural details.
