IPF 2001 will convene in Tehran in May 2001


The third international Iran Petrochemical Forum (IPF 2001) will be held on May 5-6, 2001 in Tehran. The forum, entitled "New Visions" will highlight the latest developments and future trends within the world's petrochemical industry. It will also spotlight the role of the industry in Iran's third five-year development plan. The forum will be attended by high-ranking Iranian and foreign officials, top executives, researchers and managers from leading international petrochemical and engineering companies as well as banks, financial and insurance institutions.
Topics that will be covered at IPF 2001 include:

  Petrochemical industry outlook (Iran-world)

  Regional cooperation
    Marketing

  Research and Technology (R&T)

  Management

  Feedstock availability and future of natural gas in petrochemical industry (GTL, MTO, OCM, DME)



An international field-bus technology exhibition opens in Tehran


NPC organized a three-day international fieldbus control systems exhibition in Tehran. Speaking at the exhibition's opening ceremony, NPC President spotlighted the role of the state-of-the-art technologies in the NPC's strategic development plan noting that NPC utilizes field-bus technologies in its development projects to achieve its formulated qualitative and quantitative goals. A field-bus committee was set up in NPC in 1999 to study the use of the technology in the NPC's projects and plants.

   
The exhibition opened on October 28 and was attended by various leading local and international companies.



bp polyethylene seminar in NPC


NPC and BP Chemicals Ltd. organized a seminar in Tehran focusing on polyethylene technology, markets and applications. The two-day seminar, specifically designed for NPC, opened on October 31 and covered a range of subjects including worldwide polyethylene market trends, supply/demand in major markets, specific product development such as pipe and LLDPE, key features of the BP's Innovene process, its enhanced high productivity, economics, references, product range, future trends, specifications and market. It also compared and contrasted Innovene process with other competing technologies such as Borstar and Exxon Mobil polyethylene technologies.
