Responsibilities of MIS&C Division

To provide security, reliability, availability for
information flow
-
To render hardware/Software services, as well as
consultancy to the employees in all NPC’s sections and affiliated companies
-
To help managerial tasks such as decision making,
hypothesis tests, and others by providing or introduction of proper information
systems
-
To process data and information both to provide
required reports and
-
Facilitate existing tasks.

Rendering computer services for NPC and all
affiliated companies
-
Providing mechanized facilities needed for
preparation of required information and statistical reports for NPC and
affiliated companies
-
Cooperation with the other public organizations in
‘Informatics council’ in order to develop information networks
-
Cooperation with other computer centers in oil and
gas industries
-
Develop a large scale, distributed network for
petrochemical industry from the survey stage to the implementation stage
-
Providing proper mechanized systems for
petrochemical industry
-
Design and categorization of information in
petrochemical industry
-
Providing proper Management Information Reports,
to help the managerial decision making
-
Establishment and management of an uninterruptible
communication between Internet sites of petrochemical industry
-
Responsibility for payable/receivable related to
satellite connections costs, in the framework of existing contracts
-
Attraction and retention of experts, and planning
for their training as well
-
Control of all computer activities in NPC, and
align them with the goals and objectives of the organization
-
Budget preparation and control of the different
MIS&C division’s costs with regard to economic respects
-
Conduction of functional rules and standards, and
supervision in their execution
-
Responsible for the coordination of all computer
activities in NPC’s companies
-
Evaluation and determination of the needs for the
development of computer systems in NPC
-
Evaluation and determination of needs for
information and operational systems and
other kinds of software
-
Supervision in making contracts related to
computer services, as well as execution of contract
-
Control of financial aspects of contracts
-
Evaluation and determination of requests received
from other parts in NPC, considering technical and financial aspects,
feasibility survey and evaluation of possibilities to purchasing
There are also a number of professional panels in this
division, either temporary or permanent, depending on the nature of the matter:

Security Matters Committee, conducting research
and development for new ways of security establishment

QCC, Quality Control Circuit, deploying proper
methods to control quality of the performance
-
Budgeting Committee, making final decisions about
the other parts’ IT budgets
-
Committee of standardization: maintain the
alignment of the applied standards
