Recommendations for successful implementation of IT strategy in NPC are as follows:

  • Consideration organizational resistance and the overcoming programs
  • Modifying middle and senior management opposite attitudes regarding to IT benefits
  • Communicating the necessity of enhancement of MIS&C responsibilities and its transformation to IT
  • Considering the difficulty to secure top management commitment
  • Providing fundamental conditions and resource mobilization for the implementation of the strategy
  • Involvement of users in strategy implementation
  • Implement IT investment decision-making processes; with criteria that reflect cost, benefit, and risk considerations.
  • Periodically analyze the entire portfolios of IT
  • Design control and evaluation processes that include cost, schedule, and quantitative performance assessments
  • Use NPC’s Financial Planning and Budget Department evaluation of IT investment control processes and IT performance results as a basis for recommended budget decisions to the top management.
  • Organize an inter-organizational group comprised of budget, planning, financial, and IT professionals to develop, refine and transfer guidance and knowledge on best practices in IT development to top managers.
  • Obtain expertise on an advisory basis to assist above mentioned professionals in implementing complete and effective IT systems.
