- Improve access to the NPC’s network & resources and off-NPC information/data, technologies and services. - Improve access to all available services, information sources and databases. - Implement e-commerce capability - Provide technical support and training in the use of the available technology and software. - Maintain latest and reliable information technology and communications infrastructure. - Increase speed and reliability of network - Improve systems to support a repair and replacement cycle for all technology equipment and software in order to increase the reliability and speed. - Develop, maintain and improve information technology and communication applications that meet the administrative needs of the managers - Implement content management/document imaging to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative processes and human interaction. - Upgrade the management information system architecture so as to support new tools and applications - Implement more appropriate and user-friendly data query tools. - Establish a process to prioritize and coordinate all “programming” requests to ensure the efficient and effective use of personal in addressing organizational priorities and needs. - Applying IMS (Information Management System) - Applying knowledge engineering method and tools - Applying proper methods to document knowledge and hidden knowledge - Preparing required infrastructure for Enterprise systems in both technological and cultural aspects - R&D efforts in field of IT - Continuous benchmarking and BPR - Consulting with well known IT companies - Hiring skilled personnel (either part time or hourly-waged preferable) - Use of the most reliable developed standards related to the network security - Use of knowledge based methodology and solutions - Becoming more familiar with knowledge management
- Increase the number of databases and information services available via the internet for new markets - Increase system’s reliability and capability to provide proper services to NPC, Subsidiaries, Affiliates, Downstream, Upstream and Private Sector. - Target petrochemical private sector as a user of web-based information system, intranet, and enterprise systems. - Increase the number of services availability through web-based access.
- Focus on Iran as the main user of different services provided - Establish alliances in order to improve the capability and performance in different services regionally
- Develop an image of being number one in IT for petrochemical industry - Leverage IT expertise - Keep cost competitiveness - Increase staff familiarity with IT concepts - Define methodology for IT cost allocation
