Strategic plan for the National Petrochemical Industries Company in 1996 and for the next 25 years (upto year 2021) was compiled, and in pace with the policies regarding export development of oil
products consisting 30 development projects, preliminaries for their execution took place. The first phase of The strategic plan named "2nd Petrochemical Industries Development Plan" considered,
and after technical & economical studied in 1977, the 4- year Development Plan consisting twelve projects provided. Considering available possibilities and changing some of the proposed activities in
the 4- year plan, management and supervision of the projects handed over to the Petrochemical Industries Development Management Co., consisting 9 productive and supportive projects. As mentioned above, management, coordination, supervision and control of the projects was turned over to this company, but for expedition of activities and division of responsibilities, execution of mentioned projects transferred to different common joint- stock companies, the detailed specification of which will be given later. Table No. 1 indicates the topics, products, and product capacities of the 4- year plan projects for Petrochemical Industries Development.
